When Michelle and I taught our workshops in Ireland just a few weeks ago, we were confronted by some very unexpected insights. First, we felt absolutely renewed by the sense of community we experienced while working with our group, separately and together. It confirmed right down to our souls that the Enso Circle is a completely original residency concept for artists who want to walk their own path with like-minded companions toward shared confidence and joy in their studio practice.
The second thing we felt, almost intuitively, was that the two of us were not quite ready to open the Seventh Term of the Enso Circle this September. We were not prepared to step right back into the same 12-week outline without a bit of reflection. We needed our space/time to renew and reconnect and remember the Enso Circle in its conception and its potential.
This summer has been a revelation but has also been a hard one in many ways for a lot of us. Fortunately, so much was confirmed to us in Ireland about the healing power of group process that we knew we wanted to examine those insights and to bring them practice in the Enso Circle. As a result, we’ve decided to push back the opening date of The Enso Circle: Term Seven, from September of 2023 to January of 2024.
2024 will be the start of a very significant year. It is the Year of Dragon, the year of a cross-country total solar eclipse, and could even be the year that the first female astronaut steps on the moon. 2024 will be a year of Wonder. During the coming fall months, Michelle and I will be introducing some wonder-full new elements to the Enso Circle and we can’t wait to show you.
So if you had planned to apply to The Enso Circle this fall, know that the universe is telling you to wait just a bit – The Enso Circle is growing and evolving just as all living things do, and the results will be beautiful. Stay tuned!

WHAT ARTIST RESIDENTS SAY ABOUT THEIR ENSO CIRCLE EXPERIENCE:
This experience has been more than I expected or could have asked for. When I came to Enso I was very, VERY, timid and insecure about my work … still wondering if it really is called “art” or “craft”. I found my art voice in this experience. Through the process I learned to stay true to myself with confidence … and that is where my best work comes from. Thank you to my resident co-hearts … your perspectives, honesty, humor and craft are cherished. Lyn & Michelle …. what hasn’t been already said to which I say AMEN! The plethora of resources, lesson and individual words of encouragement have made me a better, more confident artist. Sandi "Enso lets me truly see the individual style, prep and steps along the way with each artist and their projects and to see successes and failures and the opportunities in the those too. There certainly is no one way as there is no one person...all are unique as is their art! Thank you for the privilege of being part of this amazing experience! ~ Katherine I’m so honored to be part of this group of talented and generous artists! It feels like home - I feel nurtured and safe! I definitely want to continue in the Enso Circle for the next term! ~ Harleen Everyone is supportive and encouraging. The Enso Circle is an experience every artist would find great benefit from - no matter where you are on the creative journey. I really appreciate Lyn and Michelle’s experienced teaching and guidance. ~ Brita I was looking for a supportive, accessible space to take a major step forward in my creative work. The Enso Circle cohort has freely and abundantly offered inspiration, affirmation, tools and techniques, accountability to my commitment, and sisters in celebrating our voices ~ Heather |
